Re: [puredyne] intel imac not booting live cd?

Are you using the DVD or CD version? I had problems booting a liveCD
on a mac, but the liveDVD worked ok.

Re: [puredyne] intel imac not booting live cd?

In reply to this post by #! /usr/bin/adnan
How are you trying to boot them? Are you holding the C button down
Those systems look very similar to me too.

The EFI on one of them may have password-protection enabled, which
according to this article prevents boot from cd/dvd by holding C:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1352
That page also suggests how you can check/alter whether it is
password-protected.

You could also try resetting the PRAM on the mac which doesn't want to
boot it. Not particularly likely to help but it's easy to do.

Re: [puredyne] intel imac not booting live cd?

We just tried on a mac here which is showing the same reluctance.
(Can't boot puredyne 9.11 dvd edition, just gives us a flashing cursor
and nothing more.) It's NOT a password-protected EFI, and resetting
the PRAM doesn't help. Low on ideas so far...

Re: [puredyne] intel imac not booting live cd?

thanks for all the replies.

after booting them several times with holding down c or 'alt' key they
somehow booted after like 10 attempts or so. well that's the only thing
i can offer as a 'homebrew' solution, keep on rebooting the machines...

laters,
a.
