[puredyne] bouilloncube + 10.10 alpha not working here

Hi -

I'm still unable to get the alpha to boot on this pd USB here. (Using
the rsync'ed CD iso.) Scratching my head here. (No optical drive so I
can't test the same machine with a cd or dvd.) Anything seem
suspicious in this output?:

Hello DanS

I used unetbootin to make a bootable USB from the alpha dvd image, boots OK on this Asus EeePC. I'll try the script method and report back sometime Monday ish.

Cheers

Hello DanS

I tried the make-live-device.sh script using the alpha DVD as source and it is booting OK. I haven't tried an rsync'ed ISO yet. The dialogue from the command looks very similar to yours, including the 'not mounted' lines towards the end.

I know that this stick can boot from having used it with unetbootin a lot of times, I have another stick that refuses to boot anything.

What error messages do you get on trying to boot? Does it just 'drop through' to the currently installed OS? Or do you get a grub prompt?

Cheers

Thanks for testing it out. Yes, I just get a grub prompt.

So it may just be a problem with the stick?

Dan

Re: [puredyne] bouilloncube + 10.10 alpha not working here

Hello DanS

I've had other sticks boot so far and then dump me into the grub prompt. Other wiser heads may comment at this point, but I suggest downloading unetbootin and trying that (it needs p7zip-all as well)

Cheers
